The Modified VS17 Signal Panel was made at the request of a unit, the Panel was made shorter in width for their mission set. Limited quantities available left over from the batch that was manufactured.
The VS17 Signal Panel is used to identify the user's position to friendly forces. The Panel can be laid on the ground, tied to trucks, tanks, rucksacks, vehicles, etc. The AWS Modified VS17 Signal Panel is at a normal length of 72" but was made more narrow measuring 13.5"W. When the Modified VS17 Signal Panel is rolled properly it can fit in the 50235 Survival Pouch for storage or in any appropriate desired storage space.
