Allows soldiers to be hands-free when carrying a Stinger
The Stinger Light Integrated Carrying Kit (SLICK) was designed to solve two problems. Soldiers carrying a stinger missile are not hands-free so they are not able to use their M4, climb ladders, or accomplish any tasks unless they set their weapon system on the ground. The other problem is the missile is carried either in a low ready or across the top of the soldier’s ruck which does not carry well through a jungle or wooded environment and the low ready is not ideal because soldiers cannot fire that weapon under tree cover. This solution solves both of these issues while being able to integrate with all rucksacks in the current inventory. For an airborne unit, the pouch can attach to the frame of the MOLLE 4000, for a non-airborne unit this pouch can attach to the frame of the large MOLLE ruck, and for the USMC LAAD soldiers it can attach to the FILBE ruck. The SLICK allows, with minimal training, all soldiers and marines assigned a stinger missile whether 14P, 14S, 7212, or ASI MANPADS soldiers, to carry their equipment more efficiently.
