The Norotos Night Vision Rhino Mount II became the standard issue articulating NVG helmet mount for the AN/PVS-7B/D or the AN/PVS-14 after it's predecessor, the Rhino I. It places the night vision device in front of the operator’s eyes and pivots up over the helmet into a stowed position when NVG’s are not required. The Rhino II Mount can be adjusted in three ways. Tilt, eye relief and height. The tilt allows for proper eye sight adjustment and positioning of helmet. Eye relief provides adjustment for the distance from the users eyes and the night vision device. And height is adjusted with a tab on the side of the mount, at the bracket mounting plate providing enhanced adjustability compared to the Rhino I Mount. The Rhino II will accept any night vision device or adapter with a standard bayonet (horn) interface. The arm articulates with a “force to overcome” motion, the user simply pushes the device upward or down into position.
