Made for a special Tier 1 unit, they requested a compact combination rifle & pistol pouch that could be mounted in the front of a plate carrier and take up the smallest amount of foot print. That is a lot to squeeze into a pouch. But, the "Hot Mag" combination panel meets that requirement. Rear rifle magazine panel (MOLLE compatible) hold three 30 rnd M-4 magazines. Magazines are secured with bungee cords with wide tabs for easy grasping even with gloves on. The front pistol panel hold four M-9 9mm magazines. The pistol magazine pouches have a 1" elastic web strap around each pocket to keep the magazines snug when one is removed. All magazines are positioned up front and ready for immediate use right where you need it the most.
Pouch has a stiff internal panel strong enough to support the weight of all seven fully loaded magazines to prevent pouch from "sagging". In addition, the extra MOLLE straps keep the panel tight against your vest to prevent the pouch from swinging while you are running or climbing.
Best feature of all is that the front pistol magazine pouch panel is secured hook/loop and can be removed at any time quickly and easily in case you want to put a different type of pouch up front.
This special magazine panel is ideal where you don't have a lot of room up front for a lot of pouches. It was made primarily for CQB when you have to move fast and light but will work well in other types of operations.
