50731 IFAK INSERT

I was looking for an IFAK that I could easily access from either side when on the back of a belt, and when used in conjunction with the IFAK pouch, this did exactly that. As expected. The IFAK insert was well designed and well built. The built in elastic keeps your medical items securely in place, and the stitching and materials are good quality. My only complaint is that I feel like the insert could be about an inch taller. I found a lot of the bandages and items intended for an IFAK, and that fit in other IFAK pouches, tend to be slightly wider than what will fit in the insert. Even pouches that are the same width will allow for the outer packaging of items like Israeli bandages to be "curled around" to fit within the pouch, but the height of the insert and the elastic straps keep that from being an option as doing so adds bulk. The outer packaging can be removed on some of these items to allow them to fit, but I am one who prefers to keep medical gear as sterile as possible. I think this is an easy fix if AWS would include a list of the exact items and who manufactured them (North American Rescue EDT, for example), and even a video as to how the items were packed. Please, do not allow my "complaint" to discourage you from purchasing this item in conjunction with the IFAK pouch. I tend to run larger IFAK pouches, so this was simply a learning curve for me as to what items fit the best.

The combination of the IFAK insert and pouch is simply amazing. The insert with a Twin pack chest seals, compressed gauze, combat gauze, NPA, 2 pairs of gloves, sharpie and casualty care card fits perfectly, with some work to insert it, it held in place very secured. The pull handles make it a breeze to pull form either side when mounted at the 6 o'clock position. The pouch itself is solid in place on the LAB belt, with space for a dump pouch or utility pouch in between the wrap around velcro tabs. Will be recommending to friends, 10/10.
